Kids wear Collection

I had a few ideas for a semi-unisex kids collection:

* upside down & inside out *

The concept for these garments came mainly from visiting the Henrik Vibskov exhibition in MU Eindhoven. One of his installations was a 'mini rail backslider'. You could lie down on your back and scroll trough the exhibition, seeing everything happening above you. It gave a strange perspective on things, and made me feel slightly awquard (also since I was the only visitor at that time and the rail made quite a lot of noise!)

I thought the backslider idea could work really well for a children's wear store:

Vibskov also created a room where you could climb on top of a pile of polkadot cubes and poke your head through the ceiling to find a carrot landscape. The interactive change in perspective and standpoint of the visitor was refreshing.

The collection I drew up is a commercial translation in which you can find construction details applied on the outside of the garments, inversed use of fabrics, some see through detailing and volume in the bottoms.

my history:

Until '09, I worked in product development of sports apparel at Nike. Before I started at Nike, I lived in London where I studied Fashion Promotion & Media at London College of Fashion. I really enjoyed seeing how the fashion world works outside of the Netherlands.

I graduated in fashion design in 2004 at HKU Utrecht, the Netherlands. I spent a year at Duperrée, a design school in Paris. After my course, I worked as an intern at the accessories department of Chloé and I helped out Irish designer Sharon Wauchob in the period prior to her S/S '04 catwalk show.
